Gratitude . . .

  • Is an acceptance of things just the way they are.
  • Nothing ever goes "wrong" / Nothing "bad" ever happens. It is our perception that determines our judgments. Gratitude is a position of perception.
  • Is the key to a life filled with joy, happiness and contentment.
  • Happiness can not be looked for, traveled to, possessed, worn or consumed. It is the spiritual experience of living every moment with a deep sense of gratitude.
  • Is the end of desire.
  • Being in a state of desire is suffering. Lose desire through gratitude and you will be with the light, always.
  • Is Alchemy
  • "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, and confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow." - Melody Beattie
  • Is the mother of all other virtues
  • Participating in gratitude provides us the opportunity to experience a deep sense of compassion, forgiveness, humility, happiness, peace and serenity

The greatest gifts will come when you can begin to cultivate gratitude in every moment.

How can we create a deep sense of gratitude within our being?

We can have gratitude so deep within that it forms the foundation of our thoughts and actions.

  1. Create a morning mantra to give thanks for another day on earth.

"Thank you, Great Spirit, for another day to be a humble servant, to surrender and die."

  1. Be mindful of taking moments throughout the day to remind yourself to be grateful.
  2. Challenge yourself to be grateful for the things that do not appear to be positive in your life. All the things that went "wrong" today or all the "bad' things that happened.
  3. If you notice negative emotions arise in you, stop, breathe and be grateful that you are feeling them. They are messengers and gratitude is the key to receiving the message.
  4. Keep a "Gratitude Journal". Write all that you are grateful for nightly. Be sure to read past entries each week.

Gratitude resides in unconditional love.
